Introducing The Bad Bargain Band

Named after the York lane in which Ebor Morris's practice hall is situated, the Bad Bargain Band is a ceilidh band specialising in English traditional country dances, tunes and ditties; ideal for beginners & novel for specialists (many of our dances come from unpublished manuscript or traditional sources).

The band plays acoustically or through its own PA, as circumstances demand and offers a distinctive package of entertainments: a programme of dances for all, explained by our caller; demonstration of solo traditional dances (such as broom and step dancing); singing of folk and music-hall songs. Our competitive prices vary according to the options you select.

Ebor Morris (whose musicians play in the band) is York's male morris side, performing Cotswold stick & hanky and local long-sword dances. If you would like to book the morris, please contact the bagman. Details are on the home page. To book the band, please contact Jonathan Brockbank, details below.
